The slosh of the waves
The murkiness of the water
The salt in the air
My footsteps echo as they hit the path
Alert and agile
Every stride takes me further out of myself
Every stride brings me closer to peace
The freedom of the run
The connection with nature
The silence of the noise
My cocoon throbs like a heartbeat
Keeping me warm
As I wrap my arms around myself
As I cross my own finishing line
